Cybertrol’s BatchWorks strengthens our batch control capabilities by building on extensive experience from numerous successful batch control projects across diverse industries. Our engineers, experts in the ISA-88 (S88) standard, leverage their knowledge to design optimal batch control systems tailored to your specific operational needs. With BatchWorks, we ensure precise recipe execution and seamless production scheduling, while offering flexibility in recipe editing, formulations, and system validation.
Batching system extensibility including scheduling, recipe and formulation management, inventory consumption, quality control, and production traceability
Cybertrol Engineering’s BatchWorks is web-based, purpose-built integration software that seamlessly transacts material consumption and production information with your MES or ERP system, enabling real-time visibility to production cost, inventory availability, batch cycle time, and batch quality.
The BatchWorks programming strategy utilizes the ISA-88 batch control standard for design with phase-based recipes to support the operations of the batch process. From this environment, the supervisor/operator can create, copy, and modify recipes, run and phase automatic recipe execution, and manually adjust operations. Recipes can include operator prompts for assuring process connections are made, such as, adding hand-applied ingredients, acknowledging process steps (quality checks), etc.
Recipe Editor
Recipe editing functionality for both PLC-based and FactoryTalk® Batch systems. Includes support for released/development status.
Formulation Editor
Per-SKU formulations are applied to recipes to provide granular parameter management, including the ability to map item master data from MES systems.
Recipe Version Control
All recipes are version-controlled and auditable.
Batch Scheduler/Campaign Manager
Schedules production across processing units. Scheduled batches are displayed on the HMI in the production area. Once started by an operator, the system will run the batch per the recipe and formulation associated with the production SKU.
Optional Pre-Weigh & Directed Hand-Add Support
Integrates automatic batch execution with manual minor ingredient additions, material scanning, and automatic verification of material selection and destination.
Process Interlocking
Production execution can be interlocked with external systems, such as quality management systems (QMS), to ensure that external tests are performed and achieve a positive result before batch execution proceeds.
Batch Records
Every aspect of execution, both automated and operator-initiated, is recorded to a database for reporting and analysis.
Batch Reports
Paginated batch reports provide a permanent record of batch execution. A semantic model is also provided for use in Power BI or other analysis tools for recipe and equipment optimization.
Material Management
Real-time inventory consumption and WIP/finished goods production is automatically transacted with MES after performing batch certification.

BatchWorks supports controlled ingredient additions with operator-guided weighing, barcode verification, and material validation to improve batch accuracy and traceability. Mobile workflows guide operators through weighing and hand-add steps while capturing real-time material consumption and lot data for reporting and inventory visibility.
Capabilities include:
Operator-guided weighing and hand-add workflows
Barcode-based ingredient and lot verification
Validation and batch interlocks to prevent errors
Mobile operator access at the point of use
Real-time material transactions and traceability
BatchWorks is purpose-built integration software, developed by Cybertrol, that enhances Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk® Batch by integrating material consumption and production data with ERP systems. It supports FactoryTalk Batch, PlantPAx® Logix Batch Sequence Manager (LBSM), and other ISA-88 solutions.
Cybertrol Engineering is advancing manufacturing system architectures through the integration of its proprietary platforms—BatchWorks® and PalletWorks®—with Rockwell Automation’s Plex MES. This unified framework establishes a closed-loop manufacturing environment that synchronizes execution, data flow, and operational feedback across the enterprise.
The integrated solution spans production scheduling, batch execution and recipe management, label verification, and end-to-end traceability. By tightly coupling control-layer systems with MES and enterprise platforms, it enables deterministic process control, real-time data validation, and comprehensive production visibility across all operational layers.
